I am running transient cases for flow past cylinders(2D) in fluent 14.5. I have already run the cases and I have case and data file with me. Can anyone tell how to generate the drag forces with case and data. Should I run case again after giving the option of writing the case and data in monitors. Since iteration time is a concern I cant afford to run all the cases again to get then drag forces. Please let me know if you know to take the drag forces or coefficients with the already run case and data file.
Thanks. |

Hello there; If you were running a steady simulation you could have just gone to print forces option in Fluent. However since you are running a transient cylinder case I am assuming you will have a periodic solution. If you have already reached a converged periodic solution and you have the data files for this, then you don't need to re run the case. But you will still need to run a few more hundreds or thousands ( depending on Strouhal Number/ Freuqnecy) and then record the CL,CD,CM...etc Regards Shereez |
