Hi all,

I am running 2D simulations for a vertical axis wind turbine in Ansys Fluent. The wind speed is fixed at 10m/s, and I am gradually increasing the rotational speed of the turbine in a series of simulations. I am taking the moment coefficient (Cm) of the wind acting on the turbine blades, then multiplying by tip-speed ratio (TSR) to find the performance coefficient (Cp) of the turbine.

Cm & Cp should increase as TSR increases, then begin to decrease as I pass the turbine's optimal TSR. The problem is that Cm & Cp are not decreasing; they are continuing to increase, even at speeds far above the typical optimal TSR.

Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thank you in advance.
