Hello everyone,
just recently I started working with unsteady simulations in Fluent. To check whether the solution in the time step converges, I want to setup monitors for velocities and concentrations (of a certain fluid) in certain points. I created several points and made the following choices in the surface monitor dialogue box: Get data every: 1 iteration Average over time steps: 1 Report type: integral Field variable: velocity -> x velocity However when I look at the obtained plot, the velocity stays zero all the time. Subsequently I also do not know how many time steps the simulation should run. The simulation can end when the average velocity and concentrations do not change anymore. Therefore I want to setup monitors in points that monitor the average velocity and concentration over the simulated time steps. This means for example that when 100 time steps are performed, I want to obtain the average over those 100 time steps and that the average is updated after each time step. The following setup was made: Get data every: 1 time step Average over time steps: 20,000 (current duration) Report type: integral Field variable: velocity -> x velocity Again when I look at the obtained plot, the velocity stays zero all the time. I am not very familiar with the monitors in unsteady calculations. Í have read the fluent theory regarding this subject but I have not yet found the right way to setup the monitors. Hopefully someone could help me with this. Kind regards, Rob Last edited by RobV; November 18, 2015 at 16:45. |
