Hello,
I'm VERY new to Fluent and I'm attempting to write a UDF that will make the temperature at a wall a function of time. I've never programmed in C before either so I'm having some trouble getting the correct UDF. I'm working on an aluminum casting made from a sand casting process. I decided to use a specimen, as a representative part of my process, which has been reduced in geometry to its initial gauge length. As a result I have, as can be seen from the screenshot below, a cylindrical aluminum piece surrounded by a cast iron chill and the sand mould. What I want to figure out is how to do the simulation, starting by put the boundary conditions, passing through the mesh setting and finishing up with the computational setup. I need to put three different temperature profiles on three boundary conditions as below: 1. between the metal and the chill 2. between the metal and the sand mold 3. between the chill and the mold (three highlighted surfaces) How can I define a correct code for these boundaries? Thanks in advance! |
