Hello. I am simulating a semi-submersible platform on Fluent and I am trying to find out the slamming forces on the structure and also the velocity magnitude around it. I already created the 3D geometry with AtudoCAD, exported as .igem file and generated the mesh. I checked the mesh, nothing is wrong. I was also able to run a simulation with Fluent but the problem is, when I display the contours of phases my whole geometry gets read, as it is made only of water. Just a tiny part on the platform gets colorful when I focus the view on it. I checked every single parameter I chose and apparently there is nothing wrong. I chose to use the open channel wave BC inside the software instead of creating an UDF, as I already saw some researches on the internet doing the same.
Is there anyone here that has experience generating waves in Fluent? I am having problems finding any kind of support since my university does not use Ansys and my teachers do not know about it. I am attaching an image of what I see here. Thanks. |
