Hi CFD users
I have given heat source condition of 100W to one component in cell zone option in Fluent. I would like to know how fluent will take this 100W in simulation i.e., is it start from 0 to 10w then 20w...to 100W or directly it will apply 100W to specific component in both steady and transient problem or else it will take some time(or some iterations) to apply total wattage ?? thanks in advance |

That condition is fixed for the simulation and does not depend on time or iteration. There is no ramping or slow increase.
Your energy source should be a volumetric heat source with units of W/m^3. Are you sure you inputted 100W? |

Thank u for quick reply lucky
yes, i have inputted 100W as volumetric heat source in W/m3 only. what i observed in steady state for subsequent iterations, That value is slowly increasing w. r.t iterations and same thing i observed for transient also the wattage value i am measuring in total heat transfer rate option in fluxes (post processing) for that component. i dont know why it is slowly increasing and even w.r.t iterations it is crossing 100W also. Can u plz help me what might be the problem |
