Hi,

I am trying to model the flow of fluid through a syringe. I am using a simple syringe structure, yet I am not able to get results. I think there is an issue with the meshing of the syringe. The error which I get when I initiate dynamic initialization is convergence factor not reached. Also, I have attached the picture of the syringe and the error during the meshing.Capture.jpg

Hi,

Have you really taken only fluid domain for meshed model as posted ?
What is the dimension of syring and mesh size in your simulation ?

What about using a standard initialization procedure? Shouldn't that still work?

It would be conducive to fix any meshing errors before discussing Fluent errors. Nobody wants to discuss problems with Fluent while your mesh is questionable. It sounds like you have a meshing problem and not a Fluent problem.

LuckyTran, Like you said, solving is secondary. There is no point in me trying to solve the problem without the meshing being made accurate

Devesh, I didnt get quite what you meant by Fluid Domain. Sorry, I am just a week into CFD. Can you please elaborate what that means. And the size of the syringe is about 8 cms. I have tried using the default mesh settings , as well as reducing the mesh size upto 0.01 mm and using a 5 deg angle with fine transition. I am still getting the same error.
