Hello ..
I am designing a rotary plate valve where orifice is created by the rotary motion of a rotor plate between two stator plates. At rotor rotation of 1.25 deg supply pressure if connected to the port A. I am using inlet pressure of 10 bar and outlet pressure = 0. k-e realizable turbulence model. I need to calculate flow torque. where the center of rotation for the rotor is the origin and it rotates about Y-axis. I tried: Reports > Forces > Moments > moment center (0, 0, 0), Moment Direction (0, 1, 0) Remark: I got low values if moment direction is (0,1,0) or (1,0,0) ~ 0.05 Nm While it is 0.4 Nm at moment direction (0,0,1) Thanks in advance .. |

I guess you would probably need to share a couple of images/ sketch to support explanation of your system esp. the coordinate frames...
Just a few thoughts... If the rotating disc axis is parallel/ coaxial to the flow direction then I am not sure why do you expect high torque in the same axis.. per my understanding (assuming I did get the hang of your model) the maximum torque should be in the direction of pushing force on the disc i.e. surface plane of rotating plate perpendicular to flow direction.. |
