In the fluent tutorial guide, tutorial no.- 17 on "Non-Premixed Combustion" it is mentioned that

"The reaction can be modeled using either the species transport model or the non-premixed combustion model."

Then what is the difference in use of these two models.

I am beginner and working on simulation of a CAN Combustor. Heart fully Thanks in advance.
