hey all Dears, I am simulating a flow and heat transfert in cavity square porous media look at fig 1
Figure 1 Which method suitable for my problem to derive viscous and inertial loss coefficients? 1. Method: Deriving Porous Media Inputs Based on Superficial Velocity, Using a known Pressure Loss. 2.Method: Using the Ergun Equation to Derive Porous Media Inputs for a Packed Bed 3.Method: Using an Empirical Equation to Derive Porous Media Inputs for Turbulent Flow Through a Perforated Plate. second as we know in porous media there are 4 models 1-model of Darcy 2-model of Darcy-Forchheimer 3-model of Darcy-Brinkman 4-model of Darcy-Forchheimer-Brinkman the quastion is how i can use the model of Darcy-Forchheimer-Brinkman in fluent Thanks |

Fluent could only support up to Darcy-Forchheimer model. You could need to write an UDF to represent Brinkman term and hook them inside.

Hi every body
I don't know how determine initial velocity for the flow in porous media. Thank you for time and consideration. Best regards |
