Hi,

I am trying to model a flow over a step. Reattachment length found using Experimental studies is 13.8 mm. I have tried generating fine mesh around step and found reattachment length of 15 mm. I am trying still to go close to this value around 14.4 mm. How can I get exact reattachment length using fluent. Do I need to change any model constants to get exact reattachment length.

Earlier I have used default model constants. My flow is turbulent. Inlet velocity is 0.5 m/s and It is rectangular duct. More over it is adverse pressure gradient.

Should you need more information kindly contact me

Thanks

Hassan

I am using 5% turbulent intensity and 6 mm turbulent length scale. and intermittency of 1 for my study at the inlet and outlet. I am using transition SST model.

I already have studied the effect of increasing and decreasing the length scales and turbulent intensities.
