Hi,

I am starting modelling Li-ions battery pack in Fluent. Although there is some information inside the documentation but I was keen on getting step by step tutorials for MSMD battery model.

I do not know how to setup the batteries properly. Any help would be most appreciated.

hey,

I am having a problem running the simulation for the battery pack in the ECM model.
It is IDA error and temperature limited error.

Any help will be appriciated.

Also, the HPPC test done for a single cell can be applied to the battery pack?

there are too many things, which could lead to this error.
you should describe in details if you going to get help

HPPC test can be used to tune electro-chemical model parameters
of course it is data from single cell. Same ecm model is applied for batteries in modules

I have tried to run simulation for battery pack (51.2 V, 100 Ah) with default coefficient in NTGK, ECM module. First I want to run with default coeff then later will try for HPPC test coefficient.

But it is not happening. With NTGK model, simulation is running up to some iteration but after 200 sec it damages abruptly. And the temperature limited error is coming.

And with ECM model, only after 2 iteration, the "divergence detected in AMG solver" error is coming. Not able to run the simulation. I have tried everything, don't know what is missing.

if you are using default parameters, then (most likely) you have problems with your mesh and/or boundary conditions.

on the other hand, for battery module basbars must be prepared in a special way, so when you are clicking "print battery system connection information" in console you may see all zones are defined in proper way

also use small timesteps for first few iterations
