Hi
I'm trying to model n-octane injection into the cylinder filled with air (ideal gas). I want to see how it mixes (mass fraction ) and as n-octane evaporates. The dimensions of the cylinder: diameter 20 mm, height 127 mm. Injection is located in the middle of the cylinder base (circle with a diameter of 0.3 mm). Geometry and selected parameters are in the file posted below. Injection time is 2 ms, and the n-octane weight is 0,015 grams. The mass of air in the cylinder is 0.223 gram. Is this type of injection correct? I want to inject a stream. How to calculate the total flow rate and velocity magnitude? The mass of n-octane injected into cylinder isn’t correct. It is very small. What about a models that I chose? Are they correct? (species transport and discrete phase)? And last question. Injection time is 2ms. What time step size and max iterations should be taken. Thank you for any help. Maciej |
