Hello everyone,
this is the first time I write/ask something here and I hope my question won't seem too boring and/or "stupid"! I am a student and I have to solve a flux in a conduct with a Poiseuille velocity inlet profile: I can do that through an udf and when I try to compile it and then load the library Fluent 6.3 tells me this: 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Warning: An error or interrupt occurred while reading the journal file. Some commands may not have been completed. Error: open_udf_library: The system cannot find the file specified. I've found people who ask for help for my same problem and I tried all day long to do the things that someone said to them to fix this but I did not have success at all!!! Could someone help me, please? (I have a 32 bit notebook and I work with Fluent only, not with the whole ANSYS package). |

Hi,
I had the same problem. I think it's because you don't have any C compiler on your computer. Use the function interpreted, it should work and for simple UDF it's as fast an function compiled. Good luck Fanch |

Thank you for the answer! Unfortunately I have already tried the function interpreted but the problem still exists!

It's strange.
Is the error the same with the interpreted function ? |

Check your installation path of Fluent to see if you have "cpp.exe" file. It should be located in "C:\Program Files\fluent\ntbin\..." or something like that.
