Hi.
Newbie post. My project involves a CFD analysis of a model aircraft. I have generated the model in SolidWorks by using 3 view drawings and have been able to import the geometry into Fluent and then created a box in ANSYS geometry editor and berformed the boolean operations. For an idea of size the model of the aircraft has about a 200mm wingspan and the enclosure box representing the wind tunnel is 460mmX460mm square. I am currently having problems generating a mesh in the model. Below are my current settings. Physics Preference: CFD Solver Preference: Fluent Relevance:0 Sizing Use Advanced Size Function: On:Proximity Relevance Center: Coarse Initial Size Seed: Active Assembly Smoothing: Medium Transition: Slow Span Angle Center: Medium Proximity Accuracy:0 Num Cells Across Gap: Default (0) Proximity Min Size: 2mm Max Face Size: 5mm Max Size: 10mm Growth Rate: Default Minimum Edge Length 1.7556e-002 mm Inflation Use Automatic Inflation: All Faces In Chosen Named Selection Named Selection: Bugatti100 (Aircraft I have modelled) Inflation Option: Smooth Transition Transition Ratio: 0.272 Maximum Layers: 3 Growth Rate: 1 Inflation Algorithm: Pre Assembly Meshing Method: None Patch Conforming Options Triangle Surface Mesher: Program Controlled Advanced Shape Checking: CFD Element Midside Nodes: Dropped Straight Sided Elements: [Blank] Number of Retries: 0 Extra Retries for Assembly: Yes Rigid Body Behaviour: Dimensionally Reduced Mesh Morphing: Disabled Defeaturing Pinch Tolerance: Default (1.8mm) Generate Pinch on Refresh: No Automatic Mesh Based on Defeaturing: On Defeaturing Tolerance: Default (1mm) Statistics: Nodes: 628473 Elements: 3430625 The error message I currently get is:- Inflation Created Stairstep Mesh at Some Locations Any help on refining my settings to obtain a mesh that is suitable for analysis is much appreciated. |
