Greetings Everybody,
I'm running a simulation of air flow over an airfoil cascade. THe simulation works fine for low speeds. But when I SWITCH TO COMPRESSIBLE FLOW , I get the following error message: 1. Note exact events leading to error. 2. Save case/data under new name. 3. Exit program and restart to continue. 4. Report error to your distributor. Error Object: #f NO UDFs are used. Most of the posts in CFD Online talks about UDF errors wrt this error. Can someone please help me overcome this problem. Thanks in advance. |

Hi,
Typically, it means that FLUENT is looking for a certain value, but cannot find it because the memory is not allocated/the value is not initialized. This happens of course quite often when using UDF/UDM, but may also happen without it. When you switch to compressible flow, I guess there are some settings you have to change/set up. Could it be that you forgot anything there? maybe it helps to go over all settings once more... |

Is this 2D?

Ya it is a 2D Domain. and I think the problem arises because of the perioidic boundaries of the cascade.
I have defined a non-conformal periodic boundary. Any suggestions on that ? |

Sometimes stuff doesn't work in 2D Fluent even when you do everything correctly. I don't know the solution. Try to initialize it with your new settings to see if you still get the same error. If you do, then it's probably because of some bug in 2D. If you get a new error (floating point error hopefully), then you have another issue.

Try switching off source term in cell zone condition. I have done this once, it had worked. It may not work for your case. Always you can try.
