PBS fluent parallel batch jobs - Linux/Windows

Dear all;
I was trying to perform a cluster computation for ANSYS Fluent. I ran the job finally without errors using my windows laptop connected to the cluster which runs linux SP2. So I just thought to share some ideas and errors that I faced during this which will benefit if any one is looking for some guidance in this. I am no expert but I managed to tackle this with thousands of tries and I know how irritating it can be What I basically did is downloaded Putty and saved a session where X forwading is enabled. Then, I downloaded Xming server and installed it so I can have a GUI in my windows for the linux machine. First of all try to find the directory in which fluent and lic_admin is installed in the cluster using a FTP client ( I use file zilla). Then using putty command the program to open lic_admin: according to what I know fluent is located mostly in: /(CLUSTER NAME)/ ansys_inc/v145/fluent/bin/fluent and lic_admin is located in: /(CLUSTER_NAME)/ansys_inc/shared_files/Licensing/.../lic_admin if you run the directory line above now after modifying it to your directory Lic_admin should open ansys license manager and set preference to your user ( academic or license available) once you do it some files will be generated in your user folder in linux which means you got the license preferences. This in turn could mean that you dont need to specify license server in your batch script which you will submit to cluster because license settings will be saved. Now create the PBS script ( with the specific amount of nodes and cores you wish) and submit it to cluster) ( sample scripts are all over internet) One more thing, when you submit jobs through PBS and if you view your error file and you keep getting bad tty (file descriptor) it does not mean that this message should be ignored. usually a lot of online help says you can easily ignore this message. but according to what i have gone through it simply means that there is some sort of error in your script and since there is no way of communicating with you it delivers this message.
