Hello all,

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question; I am very new to Fluent. I have been running a model of an internal airfoil cooling circuit. Initially I tried to run Pressure inlet to pressure outlets at the filmholes, and the model would consistently diverge. I finally switched to mass flow inlets, and adjusted the inlet flow to match my target PTR. Some of the filmholes were run with radial pressure profiles, and others were just specified fixed values. After running the model to what appeared to be convergence (all my pressure and temperature monitors had leveled out), I exported to CFD-Post, and discovered that the pressure outlets were reporting about 20% lower than the values I had specified in the setup file.

I have looked through the documentation, and I can't seem to find any reason why this would be the case. Perhaps if my profile outlets were off only, I could see it being an issue where they were being applied incorrectly, but for outlets where I specify the exact pressure, it should be applied as the exact value I specify. Is there something basic that I am missing?

Thanks in advance!

You do not need to apply the radial outlet pressure condition unless you believe that the gas is spinning out of that particular outlet. Is this the case? The difference in pressure you see may be the difference between the static and the dynamic component of the total pressure. Have you looked at this?

Are you referring to the radial equilibrium pressure distribution option? I have that unchecked. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding what you are saying, but the issue I am encountering is that my reported static pressure at the pressure outlet does not match up with the applied static pressure value I set in Fluent - there should only be a static component. Thanks for your help!
