I saw an old post having exactly the same problem, but I have some further information.

The text command for creating a dynamic zone is define/dynamic-zones/create, then a bunch of information is required. I am using the information in the old post here:

Quote:
/define/dynamic-zones> creat

Zone name/id [] 17

motion type: (stationary rigid-body deforming user-defined)

enter motion type: [rigid-body] rigid-body

profile/udf [] MovingZone::libudf

cg location x (m) [1.0499994]

cg location y (m) [0]

cg location z (m) [0]

cg orientation theta-x (deg) [0]

cg orientation theta-y (deg) [0]

cg orientation theta-z (deg) [0]

Warning: incorrect cg motion UDF movingzone::libudf on zone 17 (assuming no motion)
MovingZone::libudf is exactly the udf name in the GUI's dropdown list. I also tried these combinations, none of them work:
Code:
libudf
MovingZone
libudf::MovingZone
MovingZone::libudf
libudf.dll::MovingZone
MovingZone::libudf.dll
libudf.MovingZone
libudf/MovingZone
[MovingZone::libudf]
Now my barren brain can not even find a possible combination.

Anyone know how to correctly input the profile/udf name? You can save at least two poor people here.

Thank you very much for your reading and help.

BTW: The FLUENT 14 on my campus computer seems all right. I guess this problem only exist in ancient FLUENT versions.

My 2 cents...try to change the name to be lowercase and input movingzone::libudf

Thank you very much for the reply. Although this approach doesn't work, at least this is some new idea.

Actually, the waring message automatically transfer my input to lowercase, I guess maybe FLUENT is not case sensitive?

Oh no! Four months later, I finally understand your meaning: change the function name in udf file to lowercase and then also input lower case in FLUENT! Yes, this approach works!

I think FLUENT transfer all input in TUI into lower case, but keep the original case from UDF. So they never match. This is a good reminder that always using lower case in FLUENT anywhere.
