I am simulating a single phase natural circulation loop and the fluid inside which is initially stagnant in Ansys Fluent. On applying a heat flux boundary condition the flow initiates and fluid circulates in the loop. In literature many authors have used RNG k-e model. My doubt is that if I give RNG k-e model will it take in to account of initial laminar flow-transition effects. I cannot restrict the simulation with laminar assumption only. Or in general can we use a turbulent model for a initially stagnant flow in which turbulence or transition can occur at some point of time. Pls reply.
Thanks in advance. |
