Hi everybody:

Just a little question.

I'm trying to read a profile file which defines the x-position and angle of rotation in the z-axis from the menu File/Read/profile. But I don't know why Fluent is not able to read it, it just gets stuck with the message "Reading profile file ..."
I've used the transient tabular profile format. (see here: http://aerojet.engr.ucdavis.edu/flue...ug/node213.htm)

I can only read it with the command File/read-transient-table

Is it not posible to read a transient-table format profile directly?

Thanks a lot!

I don't exactly know what problem you have, but when I have to deal with profiles I do the following:
-Just initialize the case and write the profile of what you will want to read in.
-Check the profile picture you generated, and take a look at the structure of it.
-Fit that structure with your profile.

Regards

PS: Probablemente sepas más de CFD que yo, no sé si la respuesta es demasiado obvia.

Hola HHOS:

My only problem is how to read a profile (3D path in my case) in a transient table format directly from the menu, as I am only able to read it from the command prompt with the command "file/read-transient-file".

By the way, what do yo mean here with structure and fitting it to the profile?

That happens to me when I accidentally specify the wrong number of entries in the ttab profile file. In the below example, I put "6" instead of "7" for the number of rows, and ansys got stuck "reading" the data - I guess the developers didn't put in error statements for this process.

transient_profile 2 7 0
time heat_source
0 0
1 5
2 6
3 7
4 8
5 9
6 14
