Hi, Ive been assigned this as part of a final year mechanical engineering project. New to CFD but has anyone done a project like this before? learning FLUENT at the moment(turbulent jet lab)...
The aim of this project is to measure the static pressure on a cylinder surface(geometry depth and flow rate) and model the problem using CFD software for comparison. The results desired are to figure out the overall drag and calculate from the pressure data the % of overall drag due to pressure. Anyone who has done something similar before any starting points/words of advice/stumbling blocks would be massively appreciated. Kindest Regards Kevin ITT Tallaght, Dublin Dept of Mech Eng |

hi kevin,
i am shanmukh, final year btech student ... my project is something simillar to yours ... to find out drag of a surface piercing object using fluent..... can you help me out in how you put the set up in order to run the calculation and obtain the result? regards, Shanmukh |
