Hey guys,
I'm trying to find the mass flow rate of my flow as it enters into my passenger cabin. However, I'm not too sure what type of surface monitor I should set, and how I should set it. I've tried using a "point" surface monitor in FLUENT, but it always ends up giving a value of "0". Should I use a line? a plane? And if so, how should these be oriented? What type of "report" should I be choosing if I wanted to check for flow velocity convergence? Mass-Weighted Average? For example, I'm trying to monitor the flow as it just enters into the cabin, and maybe around the driver head area. How should the surface monitors be oriented? Thanks alot guys! |

You can use the 'mass flow rate' report type in surface monitors and you should calculate mass flow rate through a surface.
You can also calculate the mass flow rate in CFD-post by using the function calculator. I find it a little easier to use CFD post to create planes. |
