Dear all,
I am quite new to CFD. I am working on a single desktop PC with the following hardwares: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8400 @ 2.66GHz RAM:16 GB I can ran parallel with 4 cores with this PC now. I am trying to simulate a 2D fishtail rudder performance for now and I am going to make it 3D. I want to use the full power of this PC to refine the mesh. So, here is the main question: How many cells are manageable in 2D and 3D for this PC? Another question: What is the time difference between single precision and double precision? Let's assume a simulation take 1 hour with single precision. What will it be with double precision? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, |
