Hi everybody,

I am running transient simulations in Fluent. I would like to know if it is possible to create an animation from the cas & dat file of the simulation. I only could create animations setting up a sequence at the beginning of the simulation (in Calculation Activities), but this slow down the simulation. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
If you have access to CFDPost of workbench you can create animations with that and if not, you can generate sequential images of your results (e.g. contour plots of velocity or pressure on different planes) while you are running your simulation. Then, using any third party software or online tools (like gifmaker.me) you would be able to convert those images into an animation.
Cheers!

Hi Sun,
thank you for your reply! How can I create a sequence of figures of my results? I was able to do that only creating a sequence in calculation activities, are there other possibilities?

If I remember correctly, you can do it on solve>define>Animation...and there, you can define the type of results and the frequency. Probably this is what you have already done! if it is the case, sorry !
BTW, there is also this other software for converting pics to avi (www.easytornado.com), and it is free, you might want to check it out.
Cheers!
