Dear friend I am simulating a bubbling fluidized with a central jet the same test case as that used by Patil et al (D. Patil, M. van Sint Annaland, J. Kuipers, Critical comparison of hydrodynamic models for gas–solid fluidized beds—Part I: bubbling gas–solid fluidized beds operated with a jet, Chem. Eng. Sci., 60 (2005) 57-72). The jet behavior after about 2 seconds of simulation is strange, it titls to the right instead of emerging straight so that it can form a symmetry. However for the first 2 seconds or so the jet formation seems to be okay. I have attached a photograph showing the time averaged solid volume fraction after 15 seconds of simulation time. The jet can be clearly seen tilted to the right. Most of the literature dealing with jets only simulate the system for a first few seconds and therefore I cannot get some hints. My simulation is for 20 seconds. Any suggestions?
