I am solving Axisymmetric boundary layer flow of water over a circular cone. the inlet flow velocity is aligned to axis of cone. Thus velocity field is 2-D in nature. Flow over cone can be presented in Spherical co ordinates.
In fluent How can Model it and how i can extract velocity components once it is solved. Is there any spherical co ordinates available in fluent to model flow.... |

Hi,
Can't understand your question. What would you like to do? external or internal flow. what would you like to find? please be specific to help you out |

Thank for your response vigii.
The flow is external. i want to generate velocity profile for external flow over a circular cone. the flow is axisymmetric. so two component will be there for velocity. as 1. velocity along the generators of cone 2. velocity normal to the direction of generator. This velocity components may not aligned to the co ordinates (Z,R) of the co ordinates of co ordinates in fluent environment. It take reference in literature for aerodynamics case, flow over circular cone is described in spherical co ordinates. how i can get that velocity component in fluent solution i.e . along radius, along theta and along phi. Spherical co ordinate modelling is possible in fluent ? Thanks in advance. Actually i am using this velocity profile in FORTRAN code as a input. where my code is written according to spherical co ordinates, having velocity (Radial) and Velocity (Theta) components. velocity(Phi) is zero. |

HI Rameshbhoraniya.. I am simulating something similar. I am simulating water flow over the external surface of a cone . Since you did this a long time ago please tell me how did you do it? were you successful?
