Hi, I've been trying to simulate reacting flow in a model combustor. Realizable k-e model is used for turbulence modeling and Finite rate eddy dissipation model is used for combustion. The constants such as the Prandtl & Schmid numbers are retained as default values. The temperature predicted is about 400K higher than the experimental results. Can anyone pl suggest me the modifications that could be done to obtain a lower temperature.
Thanks in advance. |

Why do you use finite rate model? In this case, turbulent flow is ignored, because finite rate model is used when the kinetic is reaction controlling. If the flow is turbulent, you should use finite rate/eddy dissipation rate model. In this case, if the kinetic is controlling, then, finite rate model is applied and on the other hand, when the turbulency is controlling, then eddy dissipation model is used. So I suppose that you should change the reaction model.

hi!
see material panel in first and change default value in second time, you can change cte A and B of Ahrenius law in reaction panel |
