I am building a piston cylinder in ANSYS and i require 2fluid regions 1. is the top clearance portion and 2. is the rest of the cylinder piston. only was as i know is by making two different bodies and then fluent will make those to portion an interior.
but the problem is because they are 2 different bodies the face at the top of piston body is facing the face of the clearance body and these cannot be changed in fluent into interior. they also cannot be merge or fused.
really need to solve this as it is part of my FYP.

thanks.

I am using ANSYS 13 Meshing. My university does not have any other viable software. Unless you can recommend me an opensource meshing that will work better. The entire process was done in ANSYS including drawing the geometry in ANSYS DesignModeler.

Dear silendra
you shuold open your DesignModeler (DM) and select 2 region by mouse (hold ctrl and left click on both regions) and right click on one of your regions. then select "Form New Part". So by doing this process you will have interface on boundary of your regions.
