Hi,
Can someone please help me with defining the viscosity of the new material that I create in Granular Temperature Model. I don't know the viscosity of the material, I just have the density. What value should I input in that case in the viscosity? Thanks. |

Fluent manual mentions that the only property of the granular phase that has to be specified is the density. It further says one can ''ignore'' the rest of the property values, not mentioning if we can use 0 as the input for these properties. Anyways I have experience of a crashing simulation when ''0'' was specified for the viscosity of the granular phase. So, I suggest a random value to be entered in this field. It must be understood that the viscosity (solid shear viscosity+ frictional viscosity) for granular phase is calculated through the user-chosen closure functions Fluent provides, if not user-defined functions . For ex. Lun et.al for bulk viscosity and so on.
please find the links to Fluent documentation for further details. P.S: Even though it's a late reply, hope a newbie is helped through this and not waste precious computational resources doing trial and error to clarify this (like me)!! https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flu...ug/node947.htm https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flu...cosity-syamlal |
