I am not really a Fluent whiz, so, here is a question:
Is it ok to make a two-way FSI considering a gas compressor blade using Fluid Flow (Fluent) with Dynamic Mesh turned off or the Fsi doesn't make sence in this case? I did not use dynamic mesh because otherwise I got messages about negative cell volume and I'm tired trying to make it positive)). |

When you turn off dynamic mesh, you get one-way FSI instead of two-way. So it's better to find the reason of negative cell volume messages. Usually it means that your time step is too big. Or you've messed something in dynamic mesh methods...

Hi,
try to change the layer dimension (from dynamic mesh menu) or the mesh cell dimension . Usually there is a problem in the dynamic mesh direction. Tray to create a mesh for layer (on a plane e extrude for alla lenght). |

Thanks for the replies guys.
I think that the time step is small enough, and so I tried different Mesh Methods, but there is a new problem: Couldn't intersect threads 7 and 8. Can you tell what's this about? By the way, I didn't really get anything about layer dimension or the mesh cell dimension, or a mesh for layer. I looked through the fluent tabs, but didn't find anything about, so could you tell me what you meant? |
