Overlaping interface zones

When I tried to save / write a case file in Fluent I got the info. message that the interface zones for a particular interface are overlaping and that it can adversely effect the results.
Then I checked if something related to the interface zones is wrong by going back to the ansys meshing module and I found that the selection is fine. and then I tried to fuse those interface zones thinking that they possibly overlap fully as a one - to - one connection but that fusion wasn't possible and fluent conveyed that the element count on both the zones is different. Could some one please clarify and suggest upon resolving this issue
