Hi,

Iīve been reading about wall treatment in eddy viscosity models. I donīt know excactly which are the y+ ranges in which a turbulence model such as the k-omega SST can be used. For example the k-epsilon models are used for y+<5 or, y+> 30 using wall functions. As the k-omega formulations are developed for wall bounded flows, do the associated meshes have to be allways refined to y+ values around 1? or is it possible to use y+ values above 30 and apply enhanced wall treatment?

Any help or reference would be greatly appreciated!
