Hi
I am working on flow through helical pipe. I want to use periodic boundary conditions for the same. If i use a complete loop for helical pipe then fluent is able to produce periodic boundary (able to determine translational vector). But i want carry out simulations with quarter loop of helical coil( to improve mesh quality with same number of elements).. but when i try to modify zones in fluent with quarter or half loop..i get error while determining translational vector( faces dont match)..so how can i set periodic boundary in this case...and another question is can i set periodic boundary in UNS mesh??..if yes..please let me know the procedure for the same...I am using ICEM for meshing.. |

You need an entire complete loop in order to have a single periodic segment. You cannot do it with any less.
