ask for help about velocity inlet profile

Hi, everyone! I have a problem want to ask for help. I want to use the velocity profile got from the outlet result as the velocity inlet profile of the next analysis. I write the profile of the outlet and read this profile on the boudary condition of the next analysis. But I am not sure what should I choose in this window.Should I input some data on the "velocity maganitude(m/s)? what should i choose in the following space? Need i use UDF? If somebody can help me, I will appreciate it! Thank you so much!

In the boundary conditions menu, next to edit... and copy... is "Profiles". You should be able to read your .prof file, then choose the interpolation method (constant vs inverse distance vs least squares). I would probably go with least squares as it interpolates linearly (I think) between your profile points. But if your points are close enough together, constant might work well too. Hit apply.
Then go to your inlet surface boundary condition. For the velocity magnitude, go to the drop down menu where it should by default say "constant" and choose "nameofsurface velocity-magnitude". Does this answer your question? |

Thank you! But I should choose the profile in the latter box? Right? There are several choices: x velocity, y velocity, z velocity and velocity magnitude. I think I can only choose one, then which one should I choose?

I would probably go with velocity magnitude. Run it and look at the velocity contours of you inlet to check
