I am simulating a transient fluidized bed using Eulerian model in ANSYS FLUENT. According to the FLUENT User's Guide, "Adaptive time stepping cannot be used with Euler-Euler multiphase models."
but I saw several articles in which adaptive-time stepping algorithm has been used. Using Constant time step would increase the computational cost since I have to use time step in order of E-4; otherwise, backflow would be seen at pressure-outlet boundary. I wonder if there is any way to use adaptive-time stepping in Eulerian modeling. |

Did people in these papers use Fluent? Maybe Ansys just did not implement this in Fluent...
