Hi,

Are you sure there is solid silicon in the materials database? In my version of Fluent (12.1) silison is only defined as a fluid.
In the create/edit materials panel if Ichoose "Solid" from he drop down menu (upper right corner) I cannot see silicon.
There is solid silicon in the fluid database though - but I guess it can only be defined as fluid, and cannot replace Aluminum as a solid.

Marion.

No - I jut meant that you cannot choose Silicon in the solids as it is not there... Have you tried creating your own solid using the silicon properties?
