Greetings, I am new to the community, I write to ask advice on how to simulate slug flow in fluent, and it's my job to get the undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, I want to know which model to use? VOF, Euler, and what would be the values used in the setup, I work with water and air as fluids default, I would like to know if I have to be calculated using correlations before introducing fluent values. thanks

Hello Mechaniker,
What I can tell you as far as I know is that in MOST of the simulation works I have seen in the literature regarding SLUG flow, VOF has been used. |

Thanks you very much, Can you help me with but the boundary conditions? I use water and air as fluids, know where I can get the speeds? the pipe has a diameter of 0.5mm, a length of 60D, air and water entering through a pipe perpendicular to the main pipe length of 30D.

Hello,
you may refer to this paper - CFD and ERT investigations on two-phase flow regimes in vertical and horizontal tubes, Parvareh, A. in order to get further information about the boundary values. You may use two velocity or mass flow inlets and a pressure outlet. If you want, send me and email and I send this paper to you. Its size exceed the limit of the forum. |

I have a paper in Slug Flow but they used CFX Ansys for modeling not fluent they used also two inlets as the guys mentioned and inhomogeneous Eulerian model with transient case if you want it you can send me your email in private message then I will send you copy.
