Hi all,
I was wondering if you've had any experience with the SST transitional model (gamma theta) in Fluent. I am using the model for flow over a wing but I am struggling with setting up the correct turbulence BCs to get the intensity of about 0.8% near the leading edge of the wing. I have done some trial and error to no avail. What puzzles me is that when I set Tu at 5%, in the solution the Tu contour plot shows values much higher in the region near the inlet where the Tu was set to 5%. I'd appreciate any rules of thumb (provided they exist) to estimate the viscosity ratio and Tu at inlet. Regards, Nick |

Did you ever have any luck resolving this issue?
I am having a similar problem, and my turbulence intensity is actually increasing when I am expecting it to decay. |

I ended up using CFX instead which resolved my issues.
