Hi,
Im currently studying fluid dynamics, transport processes etc. Furthermore I have basic knowledge about handling fluent and the ANSYS workbench. However to further improve my ability in simulation with fluent I feel that I need to be able to write my own UDF:s, my programming knowledge is limited to MatLab. Therefore I would be very if happy if someone could suggest an approach to lear how to write UDF:s in Fluent? I understand that i probably must learn C? Which books or resources would you recommend for that? Best regards! CFD-student |

I am currently working on spray modelling(axi-symmetry) by using species transportation+DPM in Fluent 13.0. i want to know that
1.Species transport: diffusion energy source should be disabled/enabled? 2.In injection, what is the relation between the point properties a.Diameter b.Velocity magnitude c.Radius d.Total flow rate 3. In boundary condition: inlet: species: what should be the mass fraction of the fuel .0 or1 or inbetween0-1. Best regards! CFD-student Prakash Ghose |

A good start would be learning the basics of C programming. From that point here in this forum there are tons of examples and cases and of course is just a matter of practice.

And the basics of C programming are found... in Appendix A of the Ansys Fluent UDF Manual!
You need to read the Fluent UDF manual, not the Fluent User's guide. There is no better source than the UDF manual in order to learn the basics, you have to put some time into it. |

Hello. Do you how I could write a UDF for velocity slip and temperature jump boundary condition for a liquid-solid interface?
Thanks for any help |
