How do I set one side of a geometry to move/deform using a UDF but not the other?

Hi,
I am trying to simulate the movement of the throat section of a scramjet engine. I have attached the geometry below. I want to move just the throat i.e. L3 upwards, and along with it the L2 and L4 sections connected to it should move along with it accordingly. Here, they would basically rotate about the point to which they are connected to the geometry. I have attached the mesh as well. I tried to move the throat using the DEFINE_CG_MOTION function and the throat moved to the position I wanted. But, two other sections either move along with it completely or they don't move at all. This creates weird little sections in my geometry that I do not desire, I have attached an example, you can see the two bars on each side that are unnecessary. It would be great if I could get some insight on how to approach this issue. |
