UDF for solidification

Hello everyone,

I am trying to model a solidification process for composite material consisting of molten aluminium and specific volume of NaCl particles.

My model is composed of two stages:

1- Flow using Euler-Granular multiphase flow.
2- Solidification of the composite

Unfortunately, its not possible to use solidification module in Ansys when using Euler multiphase flow, I have been trying to work around that.

The objective is the study is to simulate the contraction and heat transfer between the particles of the NaCl and the molten Aluminium. I am not really sure if that's possible or not.

I would like to know your opinions, I have previously been told its possible to make a UDF for solidification in case of Euler model, I have never worked with UDF so I am not really sure how to start.

Also, are there any other alternatives possible for my case?

sounds like film formation simulation.
But I have no experience
