Hello!
I am solving 3D solidification problem in fluent. I have cylindrical problem domain in which the bottom wall is adiabatic and side vertical walls are air-cooled. For giving zero shear stress condition at free surface, I am setting symmetry boundary condition but problem is that while giving such BC at free surface no macrosegregation pattern is found. I also tried by setting pressure outlet BC at free surface and almost my segregation pattern is correct but velocity vector is not correct as there is no free shear effect on free surface. So I defining symmetry BC. I want to know, why there is no segregation phenomenon is happening even though I am using the species equation? Regards Durgesh |

you do better to move your thread to Fluent branch (not Fluent UDF)
cause it seems that it is not related to UDF, I think there are more people who could help you. Unfortunately, I have no experience related to your problem best regards |
