Dear all!
I am solving 2D solidification problem, in which one side is chilled at temperature 621.2 K and other side is insulated. Initial domain temperature is at 940 K. In my udf calculation I need cooling rate value for secondary dendrite arm spacing. To get the cooling rate value, I tried by plotting temperature vs time by creating a report file and plotting in excel. From this, I calculated slope(cooling rate) which is giving me a very low value(0.008) which is not possible as it is fast cooling. I understand that C_T(c,t) gives me average value for the cell. There is cell macros to get temperature gradient vector, Can this be used to get the cooling rate as this will give a vector quantity and I can calculate its magnitude from the square root of the sum of squares of its components. I am thinking all of this to get the value. Please give your view on this and if there is another way of calculating cooling rate I am waiting for your comment!! Thank you |
