Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on an UDF to calculate the boby drag force on a particle due to the magnetic force applied on it. The UDF computes the magnetic force applied on the particle and the displacement. My question is: how do I transfer the values of the displacement back to FLUENT to display the calculated displacement with the particle track linies? Is there anyone with the same problem, or if an simuliar UDF. Thanks, Tim |

Hallo Tim,
I would like to propose to make it with the particle injection. You can then use DEFINE_DPM_BODY_FORCE macro to introduce Your EM force. The particle trajectory will be computed including drag and Your provided body force (you may also check about gravity). I think this trajectory can be written to a text file or displayed by FLUENT. Best regards, Maks |

Hi everyone,
I got an extra question regarding the feed above. The UDF should compute the magnetic force, but what about the direction of it? The UDF-Manual has an example UDF in it but I can't figure out where the direction of the force is involved? Can anybody help? Tim |
