Hello.

I'm currently simulating a falling plate, where I've written a UDF to integrate the forces on the plate and updating the velocity of a dynamic mesh zone. However, as the velocity (and acceleration) is dependent on the flow, I'm using the "Implicit Update" option, where the "Update Interval" can be defined.

My problem is that it takes a long time for Fluent to execute and update the mesh at each interval, so I want to be able to change the "Update Interval" within a time-step using my UDF. For instance - I'd like to have it to update the velocity at iteration 1,2,3,4,5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 30 , 40 , 50. So the update interval would be changing within a time-step. Is this possible?

Thank you in advance!

Anders

Hi,
I am simulating blood flow through mechanical heart valve. I am using fluent and utilizing implicit update. When I am not selecting implicit update, my dynamic mesh is failing. But with selecting it, case is running file.
So I wonder if you can elaborate a little bit about it what you have got to know by your experience.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks and regards
Saurabh

Hi, I am doing the similar fluid flows through MHV, when I use SDOF and implicit update, it can run, but when I use DEFINE_CG_MOTION macro, it seems the case fails. However, I don't know how to restrict the move of the leaflet using SDOF. can you tell if you use the SDOF or your own UDFs?
Tanks!
