Hi to everybody,
I'm trying to change the devolatilization model of FLUENT with a new one using a UDF. I wrote the UDF and the program compiles it without errors. I hooked the UDF into the Custom Laws panel with this order:
  1. Inert Heating - First Law
  2. Inactive - Second Law
  3. Inactive - Third law
  4. My devolatilization UDF - Fourth law
  5. Surface Combustion - Fifth law
  6. Inert heating - Sixth law
as suggeted in the table of the Theory Guide 16.4 - Law for Heat and mass exchange (Column: Particle Type;Raw: combusting).
Running the simulation, the particles injected do not lose the volatile mass fraction that is always constant at the initial value.
I tried with single rate and two-competing rates devolatilization model and it works so I'm sure that the case is ok.

Do you have any idea to solve this problem?

Hello, Let me see your udf code... maybe I can help you... do you have a DEFINE_DPM_SWITCH function?
