hi,i have a 2D geometry and i need to model porous media in specified locations of my geometry with different solid material, if i enable the porous in cell zone conditions the fluent will consider the whole domain as a porous media, but i just want to model 2 faces as a porous, should i define the specified faces as fluid ???? does anyone no anything about it?help please

I think i found the solution ,i specified the zone as fluid zone in gambit and then in cell zone conditions dialog box i enabled porous zone check box,i think this will do it

There is no need to define different cell zones, you can chose which cells are porous or not by using a DEFINE_PROFILE macro.

You activate porous zone in your cell zone, but your fluid cells will be 0 in porosity, Rv and Ri, and the porous cells will be whatever you want.

Cheers

hi,i defined 2 udf for UDS_DIFFUSIVITY and DEFINE_SOURCE for solid matrix in porous media, but when i go to material panel diffusivity appears in fluid zone while theoretically it should appear for the porous material (solid),and i cant add the enrgy source term for porous solid either, can anyone help me?
