Dear CFD-online community,
I always encounter the "Negative cell volume" detection error during an individual dynamic mesh - 6DOF motion simulation. In the past i was able to face this problem by using the "preview mesh motion" option before the solution to track the time moment when the mesh would hang-off and adopt a smaller time step (depending on the velocity of the moving body with respect to the rate of deformation of the adjacent cell zone). Now, within a 6DOF motion simulation although i can't track the hang-off of the mesh while previewing the motion and it seems to move and deform fine, i always get the "negative volume" error. I've tried extremely small time steps and still encounter the same problem. I would be grateful for any suggestions... Regards Stefanos |
