Hi Guys,
I've been studying Fluent-DEM coupling for a while. Currently, I'm simulating particles dropping into water cases. However, I found the volume of water in the system decreases after particles are dropped into the water. In my VOF model, I set up 3 phases, gas, water and particle. So I will update the particle volume fraction to 3rd phase at each CFD time step using DEFINE_EXECUTE_AT_END. The animation is good, the water interface raises after particles drop in, but the total volume and mass of the water decreases. I've tried the Eulerian model for this case, which is all good. The water mass remains consistent all the time. My case set-up is consistent with this paper as I want to replicate their case. https://pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.1021/acs.iecr.7b04833 Any idea would be great. Many thanks! Felix |
